In 2005 Masunaga Optical introduced the 
5000 Series. Craftsmanship in the application of the acetate along with original hinges created by Masunaga Optical result in new standards of comfort. Slits in the solid titanium hinge successfully give more durability and flexibility, while still being visually fashionable.
Thick acetate temple tips are specifically engineered to embrace the face and to balance the frame while being worn. Two acetate blocks are used to insure vital durability, preventing frame front from warping.
In order to maximize comfort of fit the beta-titanium temple maintains varied degrees of elasticity in different sections. This elasticity is produced by distinctive thicknesses within each temple.
